A developer version of Mapsoft's popular Impress product. It enables text to be added to a range of pages in a PDF file via OLE calls from programming languages such as Visual Basic and LotusScript.

  • Text can be set either as a watermark which is on a layer below all of the existing text and images or above where it can be used for headers and footers, page numbering etc.
     

  • Any Type 1 or TrueType can be used for the text.
     

  • Text can be created with an outline font for use in the foreground for PDF files where the background is obscured. This can often happen with PDF files that contain images and scanned pages.
     

  • Invisible text can be created where you only want it to be picked up by search engines, but do not want it to display.
     

  • Variables can be set to define page numbering, total number of pages and date and time in a variety of different formats.
     

  • Text can be added to the PDF file with background colouring.
     

  • Diagonal text is automatically calculated to have the correct angle and centring.
     

  • The text position can be calculated from either the top or bottom of the page.
     

  • Secure PDF files can be opened* and PDF files can be saved with security**.

    *Secure files can only be opened if the correct security passwords are known to the calling program and standard Acrobat security is used.

    **Files can only be saved using the standard Acrobat security handler.

    In this product, Impress's standard User Interface has been replaced by an OLE interface. This product needs to be used in conjunction with the Acrobat Toolkit which is available from Adobe's web site.

    This product's pricing (?800/$1130) and licensing is based on one developer license and a maximum of 100 users, if the product is to be used within a single company.
